Make a Day of the Dead Shrine...
Spooky Story- There is a very old, old cemetery here in my town that was used for the various Indian tribes of the area, mostly Yaqui.  Some of the graves are marked and date to the  mid 19th century. Every year
 someone leaves a Day of the Dead Shrine to one particular gravesite. Food is heaped on top of the grave. In the morning it is always gone. Oh by the way, the cemetery is hidden behind a very thick, very tall stucco wall.

What a beautiful ceiling! An amazing mosaic, such irridescent colors!! What's that you say? Its... beetle carcasses.... Individually hot glued, I guess to the ceiling.

In my neighborhood, we have plenty of giant flying sewer roaches. Ocassionally, one will get into the house and you will hear me screaming for the husband to get it out (while standing on a chair,bed,toilet seat,whatever is handy) !

Now, imagine those roach skins glue sticked to your ceiling.. Uh, huh. I think not.

I have been working on a series of abstracts with the universal theme of Love. I'm using stencils,gesso,and acrylics and adding lots and lots of layers.. What fun!

The color palette is veering from blacks,grays, reds and golden yellow to light and happy pinks, oranges and turquoise...
